LocalML

A focused Apple-native workspace for conversations, documents, projects, voice, visual context, memory, and reusable artifacts. LocalML is designed around user control, local-first storage, and Apple-provided intelligence capabilities.

Overview

LocalML brings Apple-native intelligence tools into one workspace without turning the product into an uncontrolled automation system. Users review what they send, choose which documents or images are included, and decide what is saved.

The experience is organized around conversations and projects, with clear controls for model availability, offline behavior, privacy, memory, documents, voice, images, exports, and diagnostics.

Core experience

  • Streaming chat with stop, regenerate, copy, and share controls
  • Document import, OCR fallback, search, summaries, and citations
  • Camera, photo, screenshot, and visual-context review
  • Voice transcription, transcript review, and spoken responses
  • Projects, scoped memory, saved answers, charts, images, and exports
  • Offline-first controls and explicit permission-based workflows

Privacy direction

LocalML 1.0 is designed without third-party AI model providers, advertising SDKs, or CloudKit synchronization. User content is kept on the device unless the user explicitly invokes an Apple-provided feature that requires Apple services.

Imported files, photos, audio, prompts, memories, and project content are used only for the action the user requests. The dedicated privacy policy explains permissions, storage, diagnostics, support communication, and deletion controls.
